Whole Roasted Chicken With Lime Recipe | How to Oven Roast A Whole Chicken with Lime

A friendly hello out there to all my Avon blog readers! I hope you're having a good day. Would you like to know how to bake an oven roasted whole chicken with lime easily? I've been on a roll with a series of recipe blog posts lately & today is no different. I would love to help you present one of these beautiful oven roasted chickens with lime to your dinner table, the easy way. Many cooking novices are intimidated by the prospect of cleaning and preparing raw meat to be cooked. Even people with a lot of cooking experience might bypass the whole raw chicken in the grocery store, usually the most economical way to buy chicken and instead buy cut up chicken breast or skip the raw meat section altogether because time is limited for all of us & cooking meat from raw can feel like such a chore but it doesn't have to be.

There are many reasons why we should go ahead and cook our meals from scratch as often as we can. It's more budget friendly and often healthier, for example. Opting for fully prepared foods that just need short heating time can have a lot more sodium than you planned on having, for example.

The kiddos are at school & I've gotten an early start, already prepping what will be our dinner & I thought I'd share the process with you. Here are the steps:
Have a large roasting pan or large pyrex dish lined with foil and greased with canola oil.
Make sure a packaged raw whole chicken that you purchased at the supermarket is fully thawed.
Then, use scissors to cut open the packaging and discard.
Wash the whole chicken thoroughly.
Remove all giblets & discard (or wash and use for a different dish if you sometimes utilize giblets for cooking gravies for example).
After the giblets have been completely removed, thoroughly wash the inner portion / cavity of the whole chicken as well.
Transfer the fully washed and dried whole raw chicken to the foil lined pan.

Now you are ready to season the chicken! That was fast! In this case, you don't need to worry about marinating the chicken for an extended period of time like overnight in the refrigerator for absorbing seasoning (although it is a great idea for when you have the time & something that many professional chefs would often do.) If you are a experienced home cook or novice home cook, single or with a family & you are just trying to get a homemade dinner on the table for yourself and/or your family asap, you can try this.

Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees, sprinkle a generous amount of seasoning powders on to the washed whole chicken that has been transferred to the pan and you are ready to start roasting this whole chicken!

I hope perhaps you read my previous recipe blog posts of the week discussing turkey wings, lamb chops & pulled pork. Like all of those recipe blog posts, I will suggest to you that you just use a simple blend of seasonings.

I will be using salt (just a little salt) and black pepper on my whole roasted chicken with lime. In addition to salt and black pepper, I will use garlic powder, oregano and chopped dehydrated onion. I like to sprinkle paprika on whole raw chicken for seasoning as well but I do not have any on hand today.

After you have fully seasoned the whole raw chicken on both sides & washed your hands with an effective antibacterial soap (which is the best kind to use when working with raw meat), then place the whole chicken in the oven at 400 degrees.

After 40 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven, baste the whole chicken with its drippings in the pan, cover the chicken loosely with foil so that the golden color the chicken skin has developed won't scorch and become burnt, lower the oven's heat to 325 degrees and return the whole chicken to the oven to cook for another hour.

After you have turned off the oven and you have a fully cooked oven roasted whole chicken, you can wash some limes, slice the limes and place a generous garnish of lime slices on top of the chicken. In addition to the lime slices that you will put on the chicken for presentation, generously squeeze some lime on to the whole roasted chicken itself to infuse the lime flavor.

This dish of oven roasted chicken with lime will offer a beautiful presentation to your family at the dinner table. If this oven roasted whole chicken with lime is dinner for you alone, then you will be treating yourself well as you should! Additionally, you'll have lots of leftovers available for lunch & dinner on subsequent days. Enjoy your oven roasted whole chicken with lime!

Easy slow-cooked pork recipe

Greetings my Avon blog readers, I hope you're doing well today. With it being Monday, the kids were back to school. I went to the supermarket during the early morning & was fairly pleased that I did not spend as much in the supermarket as a few of my other most recent trips. Additionally, I usually do a lot of couponing but I didn't today. Someone who works at the supermarket had also placed an Avon order with me & I was able to drop that off. The day goes rather fast & the kiddos are back at home. We are prepping dinner. I never before imagined that I would start posting photos of food & writing recipe information on my Avon blog but hey, why not. I regularly do so much cooking & as I attempt to increase my number of weekly blog posts, it seems fitting to share a bit about the day & let you know what's for dinner. ;-) Food blogging came naturally in my written work at another website, journey.hubpages.com because I wanted to write but I was in the kitchen cooking for my family so much that I figured I could write about that & share my recipes! So, I am that Avon lady that can help you to learn to cook if you don't know how or maybe just offer you a quick and easy recipe idea that might be helpful and convenient for you. Some of my savings at the grocery store today involved buying meat on sale. It's been a very long time since I cooked pork for my family but I decided to pick up a small package for $4. I washed the meat and added a blend of bottled powder seasonings (like I did yesterday with the lamb meat) including salt, pepper, dehydrated chopped onion, garlic powder & oregano. I'll be having it cook in the slow cooker or crockpot as some call it, first on high for two hours then on low for two hours. With such a small amount of meat, it will be well done by then. Pork cooked in the crockpot will readily become so tender that it can be shredded & be pulled pork. During the last 15 minutes of the cooking process, I will be adding a simple, basic and inexpensive store brand barbecue sauce. The family is looking forward to enjoying this pork as part of dinner.

When our pork dinner is finished we'll be having Talenti gelato in the Sicilian pistachio flavor for dessert, yum! That was also one of my purchases at the supermarket today.

Soft pretzels - yummy

Some more snacking is going on for my kiddos while they wait for those delicious oven baked lamb chops to be ready. One of my son's particularly likes Super pretzel brand soft baked pretzels. They are kept in the freezer and literally ready in seconds as they are marketed to be. With just 30 seconds in the microwave, one is ready. You can eat it plain or sprinkle a dash of salt on it and/or eat it with mustard. Yum!

Easy recipe for oven baked lamb chops

Here I am, ready to cook up some oven baked lamb chops for Sunday evening dinner. The kids are excited. Like the turkey wings, lamb chops are a meat that we eat fairly often because lamb is oh so tasty.

Here are the washed lamb chops ready for seasoning. They can be seasoned generously with an assortment of spices. I will be using Salt Black pepper Garlic powder Oregano Chopped dehydrated onions While fresh garlic cloves and fresh chopped onion is preferred, these bottled seasonings are okay as well. Your baking pan can be lined with foil & greased with just a bit of canola oil or olive oil. After the lamb chops are in the foil lined pan or Pyrex dish, you should also add two tablespoons of water.

I recommend flipping the lamb chops and seasoning the other side of them as well. Using gloves & antibacterial soap for proper handwashing & other clean up, you can also rub the seasonings into the lamb meat really well. By the way, you can find great antibacterial soap at www.getgoodsavings.com ;-) You can set oven to 400 degrees. Finish up with your prep & then place the lamb chops in the oven. Keep is at 400 degrees for the first fifteen minutes then remove the lamb chops from the oven, cover the lamb chops with foil and return the lamb to the oven, reducing heat to 325 degrees and allowing the lamb chops to remain in the oven for an additional 60 minutes. Sunday Brunch at home on a budget - baking cornbread

What's for brunch on a Sunday? The kids often enjoy pancakes, eggs and/or sausage for example. Whenever something needs baking, they love to help pour ingredients & stir batter. We just finished prepping some corn bread batter to baking in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. The kids love to devour cornbread & we keep it simple with the very inexpensive Jiffy cornbread mix that calls for adding just 1/3 cup of milk and one egg - so simple!- love it.

Meanwhile, the kids are enjoying snacking on cereal (gluten free Honey Nut Cheerios) & green apples as well as glasses of milk & orange juice while they wait for that cornbread to be ready. They already know that dinner this evening will be oven baked lamb chops & they cannot wait! Lol

Avon Representatives, How are your sales?

Hello fellow Avon reps. How are your sales. How is business? Selling Avon can be challenging. Business can definitely be very slow at times. The other day, a lovely elderly lady, who heard about my business via word of mouth, decided to place an $40 order with me. I am grateful for every customer order, large or small and selling Avon has been a humbling experience to say the least. I actually think a $40 order from just one person is sizable. My very largest single order from on individual can vary. I've had some big orders in the past. We have to remember that sometimes a customer will buy just one or two lipsticks & spent $15 or less. I think $25-$30 spent per customer is good & we should be particularly enthusiastic when we get some orders for $40.
